Yes! Jamberoo Physiotherapy is classified as an essential service and permitted to continue seeing clients in the clinic.
However, I encourage you not to come into the clinic if you are:
1. Elderly Of the people that have contracted Covid 19, most serious and life threatening cases have been in elderly populations.
2. Immunocompromised If your body’s immune response is compromised, you are at greater risk of infection and the infection could be a more severe form.
3. Have a health condition that may mean you are at greater risk If you have a Respiratory disease, Endocrine disorder or Cardiac disease, you may be more susceptible to a more severe impact from a Covid 19 infection.
4. Managing your rehab really well If you are feeling unsure about what to do with your rehab at this time, give me a call to discuss options.
Note: Telehealth (via phone, FaceTime, Skype, Zoom etc) can be claimed under NDIS, Medicare EPC and DVA care plans. Some (not all) private health insurers also cover telehealth for Physiotherapy.
Wash your hands on arrival + leaving the clinic. Washing your hands with soap and water or alcohol rub kills Covid19 virus.
Don’t touch your face/ surfaces unless needed. Covid 19 transmission requires contact with your mouth, nose or eyes. Wash your hands first. Covid 19 virus can live for hours to days on various surfaces.
Keep a distance of at least 1.5m. Covid 19 is transmitted via droplets, these droplets can travel 1m in the air.
Cough/ sneeze into your elbow and use tissues. This helps prevent droplet transmission when coughing, sneezing and blowing your nose.
